The Dollar to Naira exchange rate at the black market, also known as the parallel market, remained relatively stable on Sunday, December 28, 2025. Checks with Bureau De Change (BDC) operators in Lagos revealed that the US dollar was sold at ₦1,475 and bought at ₦1,467. This rate continues to reflect market forces driven by demand and supply, despite ongoing efforts to stabilise the forex market.
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has reiterated that it does not recognise black market transactions, urging Nigerians to access foreign exchange through licensed banks. However, many traders and businesses still monitor the parallel market as a key indicator of currency movement and economic pressure.
