Deputy Governor, Senator Charge Clubs to Join Nigeria’s Leadership Process

Ogun State Deputy Governor Noimot Salako-Oyedele and Senator Shuaibu Afolabi Salisu have urged associations, unions, and social clubs to take a more active role in Nigeria’s leadership recruitment process. Speaking in Abeokuta during the investiture of Alhaji Taoheed Awodele as President of the Abeokuta Sports Club, the deputy governor emphasized that leadership is about improving systems and sustaining excellence. She highlighted that the club has long served as a meeting point for intellectual exchange and civic development.

Senator Salisu called on the club and similar organizations to help shape public policy, provide clarity to citizens, and support officeholders with informed guidance. Newly installed President Awodele promised integrity-driven leadership over the next two years and revealed plans for major facility upgrades, including modern swimming pools, a tennis house, and a revamped soccer pitch.
