Delta Speaker Hails Security Trust Fund as Game-Changer for Peace and Prosperity

Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dennis Guwor, has applauded the launch of the Delta State Security Trust Fund, describing it as a bold and forward-thinking initiative that will strengthen the state’s security framework.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Nkem Nwaeke, the Speaker reaffirmed the House’s total commitment to policies and programmes that safeguard the lives and welfare of all Deltans.

Guwor explained that the Trust Fund, established by law through the Delta State Assembly, is aimed at mobilising resources to complement government efforts in tackling security challenges. He assured that the Assembly will continue to provide full legislative backing and strict oversight to ensure transparency, accountability, and effective use of the funds.

The Speaker commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for unveiling the Fund, describing the move as timely, strategic, and essential for peace, stability, and prosperity in the state.

He further called on corporate organisations, development partners, and well-meaning individuals to support the initiative, noting that security should be seen as a shared responsibility for all.

Hon. Guwor particularly lauded the ₦10 billion donation by the Chairman of Tantita Security Services, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo (Tompolo), describing it as a landmark contribution that demonstrates public confidence in the project.

“The launch of this Fund is proof of Governor Oborevwori’s dedication to addressing security issues head-on and creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive,” Guwor stated.

He reiterated that security remains the foundation for sustainable development and called for continued collaboration between government, private entities, and citizens to make Delta a model of peace and safety.
