Delta Police Arrest Officers Caught on Video Counting Cash in Patrol Van

The Delta State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of four officers captured in a viral video counting bundles of money inside a patrol vehicle.

According to a statement by the Command’s spokesperson, Bright Edafe, the officers were identified, arrested, and brought before the Commissioner of Police on Tuesday.

“The policemen in the embarrassing video have been identified and arrested. They appeared before the Commissioner of Police today,” Edafe stated.

The four personnel include two senior officers who have been formally queried, while the two inspectors are currently detained and awaiting an orderly room trial.

The arrests come after widespread public outrage over the viral clip, which showed the officers sitting in a police patrol van counting wads of cash.

Edafe had earlier assured Nigerians that disciplinary measures would be taken, and the latest action reaffirms the Command’s stance on accountability within the force.
