The 2023 Labour Party (LP) Vice-Presidential candidate, Datti Baba-Ahmed, has revealed a shocking incident involving late former President Muhammadu Buhari, claiming he once threatened him and residents of Kaduna State.
Speaking on Channels TV’s Politics Today on Tuesday, Baba-Ahmed disclosed that during the 2011 elections, Buhari allegedly declared, “you [will all be] soaked in blood. Kaduna is my state.” He noted that the election was marred by serious violence, with many houses burnt.
According to Baba-Ahmed, the desperation to unseat former President Goodluck Jonathan in 2015 is what ignited the insecurity plaguing Nigeria today.
He further alleged that foreigners were imported from neighboring countries to ensure Jonathan’s removal from power.
He said, “I contested with the late former president Muhammadu Buhari in 2011. But ever since he made a security threat comment, I refused to go out with him.
“It didn’t matter if I lost the Senate seat, but I won it eventually. Buhari said, you [will all be] soaked in blood. Kaduna is my state. There was serious violence in Kaduna. Many houses were burnt.
“They went and brought people from neighbouring countries in readiness to remove Jonathan.”
