Panic has gripped residents of Maraba Gurgu community on the outskirts of Lafia, Nasarawa State, following the abduction of two people, including the daughter of a High Court judge.
The incident, which occurred around 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday, was made public in a post shared on Thursday by security analyst Zagazola Makama via his X handle.
According to reports, the gunmen stormed the judge’s residence and whisked away his daughter, identified as Hauwa Anisa Shikaru, alongside Abdulkarim Ahmed Iliyasu.
Eyewitnesses revealed that the attackers carried out the operation swiftly, escaping the area before security agents and residents could mobilize a response.
Makama further disclosed that a search team has since been activated to track down the kidnappers and ensure the safe rescue of the victims.
The latest incident adds to the growing concerns over insecurity in Nasarawa State and the wider North-Central region, where cases of abduction have become increasingly frequent.
