An Abuja Magistrate Court has granted bail to activist Omoyele Sowore, Prince Emmanuel Kanu (brother to IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu), and Aloy Ejimakor, one of Kanu’s lawyers, along with several others who were arrested during the #FreeNnamdiKanuNow protest held on Monday.
Sowore was reportedly arrested on Thursday shortly after leaving the Federal High Court in Abuja, where he had participated in a demonstration calling for the release of the detained IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu.
The court had earlier on Tuesday remanded Kanu’s brother, Ejimakor, and 11 other protesters over allegations of “inciting public disturbance” during the rally.
The recent bail ruling marks a significant development in the ongoing agitation for Kanu’s freedom, which continues to draw national and international attention.
