Cloudflare Outage Disrupts Major Websites Globally

A widespread technical issue impacting Cloudflare, a leading internet infrastructure company, has resulted in numerous websites, including X (formerly Twitter) and ChatGPT, becoming inaccessible to users worldwide.

Visitors attempting to access sites that depend on Cloudflare’s core technologies, which offer essential services such as cyber-attack protection and traffic management, are encountering error messages. The tracking site Down Detector also faced issues but confirmed a significant surge in outage reports, underscoring the broad impact.

The company has acknowledged the incident. Cloudflare issued an update stating, “Cloudflare is aware of, and investigating an issue which potentially impacts multiple customers. Further detail will be provided as more information becomes available.”

Affected users are typically met with an “internal server error on Cloudflare’s network” message, advising them to try refreshing the page shortly. This outage highlights the dependency of the modern online experience on infrastructure providers like Cloudflare.
