Nigerian chef, Damilola Adeparusi, popularly known as Chef Dammy, has publicly denied speculations that she is planning to cook the largest pot of beans in an attempt to break a Guinness World Record (GWR).

The rumour, which circulated shortly after celebrity chef Hilda Baci was officially recognized by the Guinness World Records for cooking the largest serving pot of jollof rice, suggested that Chef Dammy was preparing for her own food marathon challenge.

Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, Chef Dammy dismissed the claims as baseless and “impossible.”

She also seized the opportunity to congratulate Hilda Baci on her historic achievement.

“I want to say a very big congratulations to Miss Hilda for the just concluded project of cooking the biggest pot of jollof rice to feed thousands of people,” Dammy said.

“Imagine cooking in a very big pot to feed thousands. Congratulations to Nigerians as a whole too, because this is a win for everybody; to all West African countries. Congratulations and thank you to Gino for sponsoring this event.”

Dammy further revealed that despite already sending Hilda a congratulatory DM, she still felt the need to publicly commend her efforts.

Clarifying the rumour, she added:
“I am actually making this video because people have been asking me if I am really in the kitchen cooking beans. Why would I do that? No, I am not cooking beans.”

Her response has now settled the viral speculation, reassuring her fans that no such Guinness World Record attempt is in the works.
