CBN Grants Two-Month Relief for Expired NAFDAC Licences

The Central Bank of Nigeria has approved a temporary two-month window allowing importers to use NAFDAC licences that expired on December 31, 2025, for the processing of Form M. The dispensation runs until February 28, 2026, and is aimed at avoiding disruption in import and trade activities nationwide.

According to a circular signed by the Director of Trade and Exchange, Aliyu M. Ashiru, all Authorised Dealer Banks have been instructed to continue accepting the expired licences strictly within the approved timeframe. The move follows challenges arising from NAFDAC’s ongoing transition from the NICIS II system to the new B’Odogwu platform.

The CBN explained that the transition made it difficult for importers to validate or renew licences after December 2025. The temporary approval is expected to provide breathing space for businesses while NAFDAC completes system integration with the National Single Window. Stakeholders are advised to comply fully with the conditions of the dispensation before it expires.
