Nigerian rapper Emeka Akumefule, popularly known as Blaqbonez, has denied allegations of cyberstalking, invasion of privacy, and emotional harassment leveled against him by an unnamed woman.
According to Naija News, the woman’s legal representatives, Bristol & Mortglass C.S., released a statement on Sunday, alleging that their client suffered emotional distress and continuous online harassment after she rejected the artiste’s romantic advances in December 2024.
The petition further claimed that Blaqbonez unlawfully obtained and circulated private video footage of the woman without her consent, subjecting her to public humiliation, intimidation, and false accusations.
Reacting through his Instagram Story, Blaqbonez dismissed the claims as false, malicious, and deeply distressing, describing them as part of a broader campaign of harassment and intimidation he has faced in the music industry.
“Over the past few days, several false and deeply distressing allegations have been circulated online about me. These claims are not only untrue; they are part of a sustained pattern of harassment and intimidation that I have endured for months from certain individuals within the music industry,” he stated.
The ‘Back In Uni’ crooner revealed that the issue stemmed from a past personal relationship that ended amicably, but has now been weaponised by rivals to tarnish his image.
He alleged that he had suffered physical assaults and online bullying for nearly a year but chose silence, hoping the truth would prevail.
“What began as a personal matter between two adults has been pulled into a broader feud, reshaped and used as ammunition in a campaign to discredit me publicly. The accusations are deliberate fabrications designed to damage my name, my work, and everything I’ve built,” he added.
Blaqbonez assured fans that he is cooperating with authorities to ensure the truth is revealed and stated that his legal team is taking steps to address the alleged defamation and harassment.
He also reaffirmed his commitment to honesty and self-belief in his art, saying he will not allow falsehoods to define his career.
As of press time, the woman’s identity remains undisclosed, and authorities have not released an official statement on the ongoing investigation.
