Bauchi Orders Immediate Shutdown of All Schools Amid Heightened Security Fears

In a swift and decisive move, the Bauchi State Government has ordered the immediate closure of all schools across the state following growing security concerns.

The directive, announced on Monday by Jalaludeen Usman, Public Relations Officer of the Bauchi State Ministry of Education, affects all primary, secondary, and tertiary institutions—including federal and private schools.

According to Usman, the action was taken after extensive consultations with security agencies and a careful review of threats targeting students, teachers, and school communities. He acknowledged the inconvenience this may cause parents and learners but emphasized that the safety of children remains the government’s highest priority.

He appealed for calm among parents, guardians, and school owners, assuring them that the state is working closely with relevant security operatives to stabilize the situation and restore normalcy.

Residents were further urged to remain vigilant and to promptly report any suspicious activities, as public cooperation plays a critical role in safeguarding communities.

The government noted that updates on the security situation and reopening of schools will be communicated in due course.
