Through his counsel, Adeyinka Olumide-Fusika, SAN, Banire described the allegations as false, malicious, and defamatory, warning that failure to retract the report would prompt a legal defamation action. He stressed that the Supreme Court proceedings on January 12, 2026, addressed only legal representation issues, not substantive debt matters, contradicting the publication’s claims.
Banire challenged the platform to provide verifiable evidence of the alleged payments, noting reliance on unnamed sources, and clarified that the published claims were baseless.
