Political tensions escalated on Thursday as Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, and FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, traded sharp words over the deepening crisis within the PDP. Mohammed accused Wike of controlling institutions, sponsoring EFCC actions against his allies and working against party unity, branding him a “terrorist” within the PDP.
Wike fired back, dismissing Mohammed as politically weak and unable to produce a successor, urging him to face his EFCC-related challenges instead of trading blames. He also defended his record as FCT minister and reaffirmed support for President Bola Tinubu.
Amid the feud, Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara called for calm, urging residents to ignore political tension and embrace peace, prayer and restraint. He assured Rivers people that 2026 would usher in stability and renewed development despite rising political noise.
