Liverpool manager Arne Slot has expressed frustration with his team’s performance after their 3-2 loss to Brentford on Saturday, marking their fourth consecutive defeat in the Premier League.
The Reds fell behind early when Outtara Dango put the hosts ahead before Kevin Schade doubled Brentford’s advantage. Liverpool briefly found hope as Milos Kerkez pulled one back just before halftime.
However, Brentford restored their two-goal cushion through a penalty, and though Mohamed Salah grabbed a late consolation, it wasn’t enough to rescue a point for the struggling Merseyside club.
Speaking after the match, a visibly disappointed Slot criticized his players for lacking intensity and focus.
“It’s every time a different problem that has cost us the game,” the Dutchman lamented. “Today, I don’t think we did the basics right. Too many duels were lost, too many second balls weren’t won. That was the main thing we have to improve.”
The defeat piles more pressure on Slot, who is still searching for consistency since taking charge of Liverpool. Fans are increasingly concerned as the Reds’ title hopes appear to be slipping away.
