Tragedy has hit Nigeria’s media industry as Arise Television news anchor, Somtochukwu Maduagwu, was killed during an armed robbery attack at her residence in Katampe, Abuja.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Monday, leaving colleagues, friends, and viewers in deep shock. Security agencies have since confirmed that investigations are ongoing to track down the perpetrators.
Maduagwu, described as a vibrant journalist with a growing reputation in broadcast journalism, was reportedly attacked by armed men who stormed her home. The brutal incident has sparked renewed concerns about rising insecurity in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
