The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has criticised the APC-led Federal Government, saying its much-promoted “renewed hope” agenda has translated into deep hardship for Nigerians. In a New Year message, ADC National Chairman, David Mark, described 2025 as one of the toughest years for citizens.
He said rising food prices, expensive medicines, and high transport costs have pushed millions into multidimensional poverty, contrary to government promises. Mark blamed what he called misguided policies for worsening the cost-of-living crisis and warned that new taxes planned by the APC government would only deepen citizens’ suffering.
Despite the challenges, he urged Nigerians not to lose faith, stressing that national recovery requires unity, courage, and civic participation. According to him, 2026 should mark the beginning of a collective effort to rebuild Nigeria and ease the burden on the poor.
