The All Progressives Congress (APC) has expelled its embattled state chairman, Alphonsus Ogar Eba, over an alleged breach of the party’s constitution.

The decision was taken on Monday during a meeting of the APC State Caretaker Committee at the party secretariat. The committee also confirmed the suspension of the party’s State Special Leader, Dr Juliet Ebuo Diwa.

According to a statement by the committee’s Publicity Secretary, Emmanuel Edem Inyang, Eba’s expulsion followed the invocation of Article 21.5(v) of the APC Constitution, which mandates automatic expulsion for members who institute legal action against the party without exhausting internal dispute mechanisms.

The committee noted that the motion was duly moved and adopted, stressing that no appeal would be considered unless the court case is withdrawn. Diwa’s suspension, the party said, is linked to alleged misconduct at the ward level and remains subject to investigation.
