APC Boasts: No Politician, Not Even Jonathan, Can Intimidate Us — Chairman Yilwatda Declares

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, has declared that the ruling party remains unshaken by any politician in Nigeria, insisting that no name or coalition poses a threat to APC’s dominance.

Speaking during a live radio programme in Jos, Yilwatda emphasized that even if former President Goodluck Jonathan were to contest, his candidacy would be “dead on arrival” without a strong political platform.

“APC is not scared of any name in Nigeria. Our engines are well-oiled and prepared to win elections emphatically. Opposition parties are nothing but pockets of communities without national structure,” Yilwatda said.

He dismissed the coalition of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as lacking any real influence, stressing that the opposition had failed to secure seats across key geopolitical zones during recent re-runs.

On President Tinubu’s Political Strength

Yilwatda praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, crediting his political sagacity and sacrifice for the success of the 2013–2014 coalition that birthed APC.

According to him, Tinubu’s maturity and fatherly role during the merger kept the coalition together, unlike today’s opposition leaders whom he accused of selfishness.

“In 2013, Asiwaju brought all candidates together, invested his money, and never demanded anything in return. That’s why the coalition worked. Today, everyone is chasing the ticket, nobody is willing to sacrifice. Any coalition now is dead on arrival,” he added.

With this, the APC Chairman reaffirmed the ruling party’s confidence in retaining political dominance ahead of future elections.
