Anambra Politics Shifts as Ex-Lawmaker Dumps APC for ADC

Former Chief Whip of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Lawrence Ezeudu, has officially resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC), citing internal crises and weak leadership within the ruling party.

Ezeudu, who represented Dunukofia Constituency, announced his defection at his residence in Ifitedunu, describing APC’s persistent divisions at local and state levels as a major setback to effective governance. According to him, the situation made it impossible to genuinely serve his constituents.

He explained that his move to ADC is driven by a desire to contribute meaningfully to Anambra, the South-East, and Nigeria at large. Ezeudu also openly declared support for Peter Obi’s 2027 presidential ambition, describing ADC as a credible platform for national rebirth built on accountability and people-focused leadership.

Welcoming him, ADC ward leaders named Ezeudu the party leader in Dunukofia LGA, describing his entry as a strategic boost ahead of the 2027 elections. The event attracted supporters from APC, APGA, and Labour Party, signaling a growing political realignment in the state.
