Fresh revelations emerged on Wednesday as an EFCC witness detailed how billions of naira allegedly moved from the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) to private individuals and companies.
Testifying before an FCT High Court in Abuja, Dr Michael Adariku told the court that funds meant for election security in 2015 were traced to multiple private accounts. According to him, ₦5 billion released from a CBN signature bonus account to ONSA was later transferred to Acacia Holdings Limited and other beneficiaries.
He disclosed that payments included transfers to hospitals, farms, government agencies and individuals linked to one of the defendants. The witness said ₦2.2 billion was traced to Acacia Holdings and Reliance Referral Hospital accounts alone.
Adariku maintained that investigations showed the funds were not used for election security but diverted to personal and business interests. He added that transfer mandates were authorised by senior ONSA officials and tendered as exhibits in court.
