Former Super Eagles goalkeeper, Daniel Akpeyi, has praised Victor Osimhen for his all-round performance in Nigeria’s 3–2 victory over Tunisia at the 2025 AFCON in Morocco. Speaking during SuperSport punditry, Akpeyi described Osimhen as the driving force behind the team’s success.
Nigeria secured all three points through goals from Osimhen, Wilfred Ndidi and Ademola Lookman to book an early place in the Round of 16. Tunisia mounted a late comeback but fell short.
Akpeyi highlighted Osimhen’s work rate, noting how the striker tracked back to defend and showed deep commitment to the national team. He added that despite late pressure from Tunisia, the most important outcome was Nigeria topping the group and qualifying comfortably.
