Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) Adegoke Fayoade has dismissed viral reports claiming he was removed as the head of Zone 2 Police Command in Lagos.
The false publication alleged that Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, had redeployed Fayoade due to succession intrigues. However, Fayoade clarified in a statement to Vanguard that he remains in charge of Zone 2, covering Lagos and Ogun States.
“As far as I am concerned, it is not true. I have not received any paper or communication. I am still working at Zone 2 and carrying out my duties,” he confirmed.
The senior officer expressed concern over the misinformation, stressing that it created unnecessary confusion within security circles. He reaffirmed his commitment to discharging his responsibilities as AIG Zone 2 without disruption.
