Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has congratulated the Super Eagles following their win over Egypt to clinch third place at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
In a message shared on his verified X handle on Saturday, Obi praised the team’s resilience and commitment throughout the tournament, describing their performance as a reflection of character and national pride.
He applauded the players for representing Nigeria with honour, noting that their determination and fighting spirit were worthy of celebration despite missing out on the final. According to him, the AFCON bronze-medal finish should serve as a foundation for greater achievements in future competitions.
