The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has unveiled a striking Man of the Match trophy for AFCON 2025, designed by British-Nigerian creative, Yinka Ilori. Commissioned for the Morocco 2025 tournament, the award is presented to the standout player in every match, placing African creativity at the heart of the competition.
Ilori, born in London to Nigerian parents, is renowned for blending African-inspired forms with contemporary design. The trophy features 24 radiant beams symbolising the 24 participating nations, reflecting unity, diversity and the power of football to bring Africa together. At its centre is the Damask rose, Morocco’s national flower, representing the host nation.
CAF says the design reinforces AFCON’s identity while celebrating individual excellence on Africa’s biggest football stage.
