The National Publicity Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Bolaji Abdullahi, has accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of deliberately spreading a false sense of inevitability about the 2027 general elections. Speaking on ARISE NEWS, Abdullahi said the APC wants Nigerians to believe the election is already decided, a tactic he described as dangerous for democracy.
He argued that history shows dominant ruling parties still manipulate elections despite their strength, citing the PDP’s controversial victories in 2007 and 2011. Abdullahi dismissed concerns over ADC’s lack of governors, insisting that genuine change comes from public conviction, not political convenience.
According to him, ADC’s rapid growth—establishing 28 state headquarters in five months—is driven by Nigerians seeking a credible alternative. He claimed ADC is emerging as the main opposition due to APC’s alleged destabilisation of PDP, Labour Party and SDP. Abdullahi warned that unresolved internal dynamics involving Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar remain a challenge.
