The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Imo State has raised serious concerns over the killing of two of its members in Okigwe Local Government Area. The victims, Mrs. Esther Chimezie Ijeoma, the ADC woman leader of Amosu Umulolo Ward, and Mr. Ambrose Ndukwe, were reportedly shot dead on January 30, 2026.
In a statement issued in Owerri by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Chief Macdonald Amadi, the ADC described the incident as a tragic reminder of the worsening security situation in Imo State. The party stressed that the loss of innocent lives, regardless of political affiliation, touches the core of shared humanity and demands urgent action.
ADC insisted that protecting lives and property remains the primary responsibility of government, warning that repeated violent attacks raise questions about the effectiveness of public safety measures. The party called for proactive leadership, clear security strategies, and firm commitment to justice.
It demanded a transparent investigation, timely public briefing on findings, and the swift arrest and prosecution of those responsible to deter future violence.
