Political analyst and communications professor, Abiodun Adeniyi, has said the African Democratic Congress (ADC) is yet to attain the stability required to take firm decisions on its 2027 presidential ticket. Speaking on ARISE News, Adeniyi noted that the party remains in a transition and consolidation phase, making caution inevitable for aspirants like Senator Aminu Tambuwal.
He described Tambuwal as a moderate, centrist politician with strong political mileage, stressing that his measured posture reflects calculation, not indecision. According to him, the ADC is still building internal structures and cannot yet guarantee clarity on its presidential direction.
Adeniyi warned that internal rivalry poses the biggest threat to the party, as several heavyweight politicians nurse presidential ambitions. He added that managing consensus would be critical, noting that figures like Peter Obi could exit if denied the top ticket.
The analyst expressed cautious optimism that ADC leadership can manage competing interests and project unity ahead of 2027.
