The Adamawa State Police Command has apprehended 28-year-old Aliyu Musa for allegedly sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl in the Mubi Local Government Area.
The arrest was announced in a statement on Tuesday by the command’s spokesperson, SP Suleiman Nguroje, as part of ongoing efforts to protect women and children from sexual violence in the state.
According to Nguroje, the arrest followed a complaint made on September 12, 2025, at the Mubi South Divisional police headquarters. It was reported that on September 11, 2025, the young sales girl sought shelter in Musa’s shop during a rainstorm.
Nguroje stated, “The suspect took advantage of that and allegedly lured her into the inner part of the shop, where he forcefully had unlawful carnal knowledge of her. He further attempted to induce her with money and a promise to buy her a mobile phone to conceal the unlawful act.”
Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, has ordered a discreet investigation into the matter and assured that the case will be thoroughly prosecuted to ensure justice. He condemned any form of sexual abuse against children and urged parents and guardians to educate their children about personal safety, encouraging them to report any suspicious or criminal acts without fear.
This incident follows the earlier arrest of 43-year-old Rabiu Usman in March, who was taken into custody for allegedly raping an 11-year-old girl in Timdore District, Ganye Local Government Area.
Nguroje noted that Usman was arrested after a referral from the Chief Magistrate Court, Ganye, based on a complaint lodged by the victim’s mother regarding an incident that occurred on February 16.
