Popular Nigerian actress and trained engineer, Etinosa Idemudia, has stirred conversations online after declaring that acting is more tasking than engineering.
Speaking during a recent episode of the Bold Enough To Say It podcast, Etinosa, who holds a degree in Engineering, shared that her experience in both professions made her realise that acting requires far more emotional and mental energy.
“I have been an engineer and I have been an actor. No offence to my colleagues in the engineering world, but I dare say that being an actor is much more tasking,” she said.
Describing the acting profession in vivid terms, the Shanty Town star called it “mad people’s work,” adding that it pushes individuals to emotional extremes in order to deliver compelling performances.
“It’s a crazy kind of work. It’s a mad people’s work. Don’t let those people that close by 5 PM come and be insulting us,” she added jokingly.
Her comments have since generated diverse reactions online, with some social media users agreeing that acting can be mentally draining, while others argued that engineering demands more technical and intellectual discipline.
Etinosa, who is known for balancing multiple creative and professional roles, has often spoken about her journey from a stable engineering career to Nollywood fame.
