Abia LP Faction Blasts Abure, Labels Congresses ‘Kangaroo’ After Supreme Court Ruling

Chairman of the Nenadi Usman-led faction of the Labour Party (LP) in Abia State, Emmanuel Otti, has accused factional National Chairman, Julius Abure, and his supporters of violating the April 2025 Supreme Court judgement on the party’s leadership crisis.

Speaking at the LP State office in Umuahia, Otti described the recent congresses reportedly conducted by the Abure camp nationwide as “Kangaroo” and illegal. He revealed that he obtained an order from the Abia State High Court stopping the conduct of LP congresses, which he said was blatantly ignored.

Otti warned that disobedience to the law could attract not only legal consequences but also “the wrath of the gods.”

He defended Governor Alex Otti’s treatment of party members, insisting they are carried along in governance. He expressed confidence that, due to the governor’s performance, LP will sweep elections across Abia in 2027.
