Tinubu, APC Set to Restructure NWC and Presidency Amid Major Shake-up

President Bola Tinubu and the ruling APC are reportedly finalising plans to restructure the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) and introduce reforms within the Presidency. Sources say all NWC positions, except National Chairman and Vice Chairman, may be rotated across the six geopolitical zones to ensure wider representation and accommodate recently defected governors.

The move is aimed at consolidating internal cohesion ahead of upcoming Ward, Local Government, State, Zonal Congresses, and the National Convention. The Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF) has pledged support to enhance leadership communication, transparency, accountability, and inclusiveness across the party.

Reports indicate that while adjustments to NWC positions and the presidential ticket are being considered, final decisions have been deferred until Tinubu returns from Türkiye. Speculations include moving the presidential running mate slot to the North-West and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) to the North-East.

The APC leadership is working to harmonise party structures with grassroots engagement, ensuring strategic alignment between the Presidency, governors, and party officials to strengthen public confidence and internal democracy.
