University of Ibadan Shapes Leaders: Alumna Urges Graduates to Build Strong Foundations

At the University of Ibadan’s Class of 2025 convocation, alumna and CEO of Beige Spaces Limited, Mrs. Bola Olajomi-Otubu, hailed the institution as a “training ground” and “refining fire” for success. She recounted her journey from psychology graduate to construction entrepreneur, highlighting how UI’s strong foundation empowered her to pivot and succeed.

Olajomi-Otubu urged graduates to embrace resilience, faith, patience, and values that produce lasting success, cautioning against social media illusions. She encouraged them to focus on character, relationships, legacy, and meaningful contributions, drawing inspiration from UI giants like Wole Soyinka and Chinua Achebe. Emphasising that life in Nigeria tests strength, she concluded by urging graduates to rise from “pepper to purpose” and step into the world as builders of the future.
