Operation Hadin Kai: Nigerian Troops Eliminate 12 Boko Haram/ISWAP Terrorists in Borno

Troops of the Joint Task Force, North East Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), have recorded a major victory against insurgency after neutralizing 12 suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists during coordinated clearance operations in Mafa Local Government Area of Borno State.

Mafa, located in Borno Central Senatorial District, about 60 kilometers from Maiduguri, the state capital, has long been affected by insurgent activities.

According to military reports, the successful operation was guided by Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) platforms of the Air Component Command, which provided real-time intelligence to direct precision airstrikes and troop movements.

The operation successfully cleared terrorist hideouts in Tamsu Ngamdu, Dalakaleri, and Gaza—areas notorious for insurgent activities.

During the raid, troops recovered:

  • Eight AK-47 rifles
  • Eight fully loaded AK-47 magazines with 7.62mm ammunition
  • Assorted cache of drugs and medical supplies allegedly used by the terrorists

Military authorities commended the bravery and resilience of the troops and urged the Theatre Command to sustain the momentum in dismantling terrorist strongholds across the North East.
