Tinubu Orders Massive Security Sweep in Kwara Forests After New Kidnappings

President Bola Tinubu has directed a full-scale security cordon across major forests in Kwara State following a fresh wave of kidnappings and suspected terrorist activities. The directive, announced by Presidential Adviser Sunday Dare, mandates the Nigerian Air Force to intensify aerial surveillance over deep forest zones believed to be criminal hideouts.

According to Dare, the operation will run round-the-clock and integrate with ground troops for quicker response and rescue efforts. The order also extends to forest corridors linking Kwara with Kebbi and Niger states, where several victims are still unaccounted for.

Communities were urged to support the ongoing operations by immediately reporting unusual movements. The move follows the abduction and rescue of 38 churchgoers in Eruku and Monday’s reported kidnapping of at least 10 residents in Isapa.
