Former Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof is reportedly close to making a return to the Premier League, with Aston Villa finalizing a two-year deal for the Swedish centre-back.
The 31-year-old, who left Old Trafford earlier this summer after eight years, is currently undergoing a medical with Villa, according to trusted transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano.
Lindelof had been keeping fit with boyhood club Vasteras SK in Sweden while considering his next move. The defender drew interest from top clubs including Fiorentina, Bayer Leverkusen, and Everton, but Aston Villa’s attractive financial offer and European football ambitions under manager Unai Emery proved decisive.
If completed, Lindelof’s move will further strengthen Villa’s defensive options as they aim to challenge both domestically and in Europe.
