Controversial Nigerian preacher, Prophet Odumeje, has launched a scathing attack on top clerics, including Pastor E.A. Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God and Bishop David Oyedepo of Living Faith Church, accusing them of keeping silent in the face of Nigeria’s deepening economic and political crisis.
“Nigeria Has the Worst Government” – Odumeje
Speaking during a sermon, Odumeje described Nigeria’s leadership as “the most corrupt and ineffective government in the world”, insisting that the silence of respected church leaders is making the situation worse.
According to him, Nigerians — particularly the youth — must rise to reclaim their nation from politicians he accused of being “businessmen” disguising as leaders.
He lamented the sharp decline of the naira against the Ghanaian cedi, recalling a time when Nigerians mocked Ghana’s currency, only for the reverse to now be the case.
“See, Ghana that we used to insult is now insulting Nigeria. Ghana money has value more than Nigeria’s money today,” Odumeje said.
Call-Out to Clerics and Leaders
The fiery preacher questioned why respected figures like Adeboye and Oyedepo have refused to openly criticize the government, stressing that the role of religious leaders is to speak truth to power, especially when citizens are suffering.
Odumeje argued that corruption and incompetence have become so normalized that Nigerians barely react anymore, warning that this dangerous acceptance is destroying the future of the nation.
On Tinubu’s Promises
Referencing President Bola Tinubu, Odumeje reminded Nigerians of his campaign vow to provide 24-hour electricity within four years. He urged the government to deliver on its commitments, insisting that broken promises must not go unchallenged.
“When Tinubu was about to enter government, he said if in four years he cannot provide 24-hour electricity, Nigerians should not vote for him again. How many of you saw the video?” Odumeje asked his congregation.
“Fathers Must Rise”
Concluding his remarks, Odumeje called on elders, community leaders, and fathers of the nation to rise up and guide the country. He emphasized that bad governance affects not just the present, but also the values and respect of future generations.
He declared:
“We can never keep quiet. This is our country. There must be a revolution. Amen.”
“Pastors like Adeboye and Oyedepo should be calling out the b@d government in Nigeria. Our politicians are the w0rst. Ghana is now better than us, all the youths needs to come together and take the country back” -Pastor Odumeje continues to call out Nigerian leaders. pic.twitter.com/rHMjk7Htpz
