Victor Osimhen Played Against Liverpool on Painkillers, Says Turkish Transfer Expert

Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen reportedly forced himself to play through pain as he helped Galatasaray secure a historic 1-0 UEFA Champions League win over Liverpool at Rams Park.

Turkish football transfer expert Süleyman Rodop disclosed that Osimhen featured in the encounter despite carrying an ankle ligament injury he sustained while on international duty with the Super Eagles of Nigeria against Rwanda in a recent World Cup qualifier.

Osimhen scored the decisive first-half penalty that sealed victory for the Turkish Süper Lig champions.

Played Through Pain

Speaking to Habersarikirmizi, Rodop said:
“Victor Osimhen played the Liverpool match with painkiller injections. A day before the match, he said, ‘I have to play in this match, I will play with injections if necessary.’

The update raises questions about Osimhen’s availability for Galatasaray’s weekend clash against Beşiktaş in the Turkish Süper Lig. According to Rodop, a final decision on his participation will be taken in the coming days.

Osimhen’s determination and resilience have once again earned him admiration from fans worldwide, but concerns remain about the long-term effect of playing through such injuries.
