The Nigerian Correctional Service in Kano State has announced a remarkable achievement: 68 inmates have successfully passed the 2025 Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) conducted by NECO.
In a statement released by the Service, the inmates expressed that this accomplishment is life-changing, providing them with an opportunity to rebuild their lives and foster hope for a brighter future.
According to the Correctional Service, this success was made possible through the support of the Kano State Government, which sponsored educational programs for the inmates.
“This initiative aligns with the Nigerian Correctional Service Act of 2019, which emphasizes the reformation and rehabilitation of inmates through education and vocational training,” the statement read.
The Kano State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to offering educational opportunities for inmates, enabling them to reintegrate into society as responsible citizens.
Officials highlighted that this initiative is part of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda, aimed at enhancing the lives of all Nigerians, including those serving prison sentences.
