ADC chieftain and Ovation publisher, Dele Momodu, has confirmed intense competition among top political heavyweights for the party’s presidential ticket ahead of the 2027 general election. Speaking on Arise News, Momodu disclosed that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Labour Party’s Peter Obi, and former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi are all eyeing the ADC ticket.
He stressed that rivalry is expected in a serious political party and expressed confidence that the ADC would eventually rally behind one candidate after its primaries. According to him, no aspirant should be pressured to step down, noting that internal democracy must prevail.
Momodu, however, admitted that Atiku remains his personal preference, citing experience, political exposure, and national appeal. He argued that Nigeria’s elections are driven by numbers and regional sentiments, not emotions, and warned that defeating the APC would require unity, experience, and strategic calculations.
