2027: Nwajuba Slams APC, Says Nigeria Is Run Like A Cartel

Former Minister of State for Education, Chukwuemeka Nwajuba, has declared his intention to contest the 2027 presidential election on the platform of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, accusing the ruling APC of incompetence and cartel-style governance.

Speaking on ARISE NEWS, Nwajuba said Nigeria is at a critical political moment, insisting that serious mobilisation must begin in 2026. He alleged that the APC is consolidating power by absorbing political actors in order to control national resources, describing current governance as chaotic and directionless.

The former minister said the ADC is positioning itself as a credible alternative by building strong party structures and encouraging mass participation from Nigerians seeking change. He dismissed claims that the opposition is recycling old faces, stressing the need for leadership that blends experience, education and energy.

Nwajuba criticised fuel subsidy removal without local refining, excessive public spending and poor budget performance, insisting that government must prioritise citizens’ welfare. He added that Nigeria needs a collective leadership model, not “big-man politics,” to move the country forward.
