New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) chieftain, Abdulmumin Jibrin, has stirred political debate after declaring that he would support both President Bola Tinubu and former Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso working together ahead of the 2027 elections.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Wednesday, Jibrin was asked to choose between Tinubu and Kwankwaso in the upcoming presidential race. In response, he hinted at a possible collaboration between the two political heavyweights.
Jibrin expressed strong confidence in Tinubu’s chances, stating:
“I’m a Tinubu person and I believe I cannot see anything that will stop him from winning the election in 2027. I like him and he likes me too. In a working environment, it’s important that you have a boss that likes you and you like him too, irrespective of party affiliation.”
He added that Kwankwaso has consistently left his political doors open for dialogue, leaving room for speculation about a potential alliance with Tinubu’s APC in 2027.
While Jibrin admitted he is not privy to Kwankwaso’s full political plans, he emphasized that the possibility of the two teaming up remains wide open based on Kwankwaso’s past remarks.
