The Federal Government has successfully secured the release of 100 students abducted from St. Mary’s Private Catholic School in Papiri, Niger State. The attack, which occurred on November 21, 2025, saw armed bandits storm the school dormitories, abducting 315 people, including 303 students and 12 teachers. Security forces, aided by local hunters, launched a coordinated search operation that led to the rescue of 100 children, while 50 had escaped earlier.

Authorities stressed that heightened security measures remain in place to protect schools, and investigations are ongoing to apprehend the perpetrators. The development demonstrates the government’s commitment to tackling school kidnappings and highlights the importance of community collaboration in safeguarding children.
